2017 6th Annual Safety Conference
TSSA is happy to announce its sixth Annual Safety Conference "24/7 Safety" at no cost (FREE) to all attendees. We will be hosting the event at the Wahpeton Eagles Club, 114 Dakota Avenue. This year we feature 3 events Drugs & Alcohol Awareness and Dangers of Employee Fatigue in the morning and SAFER Driver's Challenge in the afternoon. Registries may choose to attend the morning, afternoon or both during registration. This way you can come when you want, and stay for what you want.
Drugs & Alcohol Awareness will take place at 8:30 with Vickie Schmidt. Vickie will address common symptoms of alcohol misuse and controlled substance use; the impact of use on personal health, family, safety, and the workplace; and related topics.
Schmidt & Associates has the designation of Nationally Accredited for Administration of Drug & Alcohol Testing Programs from DATIA. They are the only dedicated testing organization in North Dakota, South Dakota, or Minnesota to have achieved this honor.
Dangers of Employee Fatigue will take place at 10:30 with Skyler Dutton. Fatigue is an increasing health and safety problem in our daily lives due to a society with decreasing emphasis on sleep.
Skyler Dutton has a degree in Criminal Justice & Physical Education. Skyler was a volunteer firefighter as well as a ND police officer for nine years. While working as an officer, Skyler served as a certified drug recognition expert and school resource officer.
SAFER Driver's Challenge will take place in the afternoon at 12:30 with Mike Argall. The SAFER Defensive Driving Course aids to reduce driving related risks faced by employees and their families. This program meets the criteria for the WSI Safe Driver Program, is recognized by the ND Insurance Industry for a premium discount, and ND Driver's License for point reduction.
Mike served 35 years with the Cass County Sheriff's Office before retiring in March 2014. He is currently a certified defensive driver instructor through the National Traffic Safety Institute.
